The Ramirez article seemed a little one sided, since none of the Unz arguments were presented in much detail and since one of the debaters was the one who did the summary. I do think that Ramirez made some great points, I just would have been more impressed if I saw more of the other side.
The Crawford article on the
Internet proved to be a little hard to find. I thought it was a
very interesting historical reference, but I just don't have time for
much comment because I am rushing off right now to print this and go to
class. That Callaghan person sounds like quite a character
though. Interesting the kind of opposition that bilingual
education faces. I'd like to see more about her so I could learn
more of what she was thinking. I also found it to be a pretty
stinging indictment of the American new media. But then, I have
some pretty strong issues with them already.
